Upon arrival at Wai Oti airport of Maumere on Flores Island, our local guide will meet you then transfer to Filadelfia or Bunaken reastaurant on the harbor for lunch. Depart to Larantuka in a distance of 127 kilometers/ 4 hours by driving. On the way stops at Pati Ahu-natural cave to see stalactites and stalagmites then at Hokeng to see coffee farm and factory–the largest coffee farm and the only factory on Flores. Continue to Larantuka. Opportunity to take photos depends on local happenings. Stay overnight at hotel in Larantuka town. Depart to Larantuka harbor then continue embarking on boat to Lewoleba on Lembata Island. The sailing journey to Lewoleba takes approx 4 hours. Arrive at Lewoleba harbor directly drive crossing to Lamalera village on the south passing through bumpy road--at some parts have not yet paved. The scenic landscape along the journey is very gorgeous. Stay overnight at home stay in Lamalera village. Today we gather with local whale hunters, hop on their traditional wooden boat called “Paledang” which its sails made of lontar palm leafs then sail out to the deep Indian Ocean. By luck one will see muscular harpooners chasing the whale. Early afternoon sail back to shore then opportunity to observe the whale hunters’ activities, learn their custom and tradition, and interact with them—listen to their story about conducting whale hunting as well as how they make living et cetera. Stay overnight at home stay in Lamalera village. Depart to Lewoleba town and on towards Mawa and Lamagute–two traditional weaving villages the north right on the foot of Volcano Ile Ape (1450 m). Here you will explore the most original and typical “ikat” of Lembata-hand spun cotton and natural coloring. Return to Lewoleba town for stay overnight at hotel. Transfer to harbor then continue by boat to Larantuka town on Flores Island. Arrive at Larantuka continue driving to Maumere. Stop on the way will be made according to local happenings,stay and overnight in SAO WIASATA Hotel. After breakfast at hotel transfer to the airport for flight back to Bali, on arrival will transfer back to your original hotel in Bali.
